Why DragonEye?

I have been working in the GovCon Defense sector for 30+ years. I wanted a business name that evoked the ability to see the small things, even when you are looking at the big picture.  EagleEye was my first thought; but you can't throw a rock in this space without hitting a company that has Eagle in it's name.

I am also a big fan of epic fantasy (Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, R.A Salvatore, etc.), so I thought, "what mythic creature has the ability to see the tiniest of things while also being able to soar so high as to see all the big picture."  Well, duh... a Dragon.

Result:  DragonEye Consulting.

DragonEye Consulting Partner, David Hazlett

David Hazlett, Managing Partner

I have over 34 years experience in GovCon and Non-profit industries. It all started in 1983 when I built my first Labor Distribution spreadsheet on a new IBM PC-XT with a software app called Lotus 1-2-3. Since then, I have taken a company public, served as Controller of the Burning Tree Club and held many employment and advisory positions for dozens of GovCons and Non-profit businesses. These include 8(a), SB, GSA, Veteran-owned, Native American, Alaskan and even foreign-owned companies.

I served as Deltek's GCS Director of Consulting from 2004-2005 and in 2013, founded DragonEye Consulting.

I have over 30 years experience in the GovCon industry, starting in 1987 when I began work as an AP clerk for a large GovCon. That is where I found my passion for GovCon accounting (I am such an accounting nerd). I learned enough on the job to work for Deltek as a certified Deltek GCS consultant from 2003 – 2006. During that time, I was able to travel the country extensively assisting clients with GCS implementations and all things DCAA. Then in 2008, I earned my Masters Certificate in Government Contracting from GW University.

In 2014, David contacted me about joining the DragonEye team and I jumped at the opportunity. I earned my certification in Unanet Project Tracking and Financials in 2016; and continue to enjoy working as a partner with all our GovCon clients.
